A Common Cause

I was first invited by T.Hazelle to join the NSTP team in December 2013.  Eager to be a part of a close-knit group of educators bound by a common cause, I agreed without hesitation and joined the NSTP Common Module class.  Following T.Hazelle’s lead, I assisted in liaising with resource speakers and in facilitating class discussions.

This prepared me well for the next semester when I team taught NSTP LTS 2 Team San Vicente with T.Jac.  Overseeing the students who now had children to teach beginning reading, I realized how important it was to ensure that they were prepared and had everything they needed for each day’s session, that they were teaching the children well and that they were handling themselves well emotionally, too.  I learned that for some, the challenge of managing children’s behavior and keeping them motivated can really be a daunting task and often they would turn to us, their supervising teachers, for advice or for comfort.  And now that I appreciate my role as a supervising teacher better, I am happy to be given another opportunity to handle an NSTP LTS 2 class this semester (and at a new site at that!) along with T. Sharey and again, with T.Hazelle.

We have only 6 NSTP LTS 2 students and I hope that this small number will allow us to form a close-knit group of educators bound by a common cause.  I look forward to meeting our students and guiding them as they empower the students of Krus na Ligas Elementary School who need the empowerment the most.  I look forward to a fruitful sem with T.Hazelle and T.Sharey, a sem that I know I will learn much from as I have had in my previous sems with NSTP.
